I'm taking clases at PUCMM, or Pontifica Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra. This is a private Catholic university located in Santiago, as is rated the best school in the Dominican Republic, and is among the best schools in the Caribbean.
The school has abut 17,000 students enrolled and was founded in 1962. It's programs are diverse: liberal arts to IT to engineering to medicine.

The campus is beautiful and well kept. The students seem friendly as well, and they all dress well to go to class (which is not like U.S. universities!)
Since I'm only taking liberal arts courses (culture courses and history courses) I can only speak from what I know about my professors for these clases. They all seem to be really knowledgeable professors that are interested in teaching main ideas and themes instead of facts and details. Additionally, since I'm taking a class that has both foreign and native students, these professors work hard to balance the class room.
The professors talk as they normally would in an all Dominican class, but will repeat key themes and clarify particularly tricky concepts for the non-native students.
